UK Riders Competition - Fri 28th May 2010

UK Riders Competition
Fri 28th May 2010 -

The UK Riders Challenge is an annual national event involving a series of qualifying dressage and SJ competitions (held on Friday evenings at Thornton Lodge). It is designed to appeal to the everyday rider with the emphasis being on a fun event which eventually provides qualifiers with a final of some national significance. It is a great way to introduce a young horse to competition and good opportunity for people who usually shy away from competing to face their gremlins and join us for a lovely relaxed evening in a very friendly and supportive environment. There will be a class to suit you whatever your background and experience and we always run a clear round jumping at the start just to get you in the mood! Food and drinks are available and it is also an excellent opportunity to take a quick look at our cross country facilities and pick up an entry form for our UK Chaser and Hunter Trial competitions!!

You do not need to be a UK Riders member to enter the classes, although you do get a reduction in fees if you are, but you will need to join within 14 days of securing a place in the national final if you wish to attend.

Anyone can enter the qualifying rounds irrespective of age or experience but no combination of horse or rider may qualify to the next stage if they are affiliated to BSJA (SJ classes), BD (dressage classes) or BE (either class).

There are senior and junior sections but no restriction on adults riding ponies or children riding horses.

Juniors are those who are under 16 on 1.1.2010. If they qualify and are 16 before the next round they will remain eligible to enter the junior section of the regional and national finals irrespective.
